I am praying that your family be comforted through this sorrowful time. The pain of death is hard. God knows our pain and provides us with comfort. (Psalms 9:9&10) He promises us that we will see our loved ones again. Johm5:28 tells us that he will remember our loved ones and give them life again. And Revelations 21: 3&4 provides us with a future promise that God will remove death forever. May this promise give you comfort. N. Jones

My dad had such a great sense of humor, and he enjoyed it. I enjoyed it. I'm sure that everyone here did as well.
One of the things that I will always remember are his jokes. He even made some jokes off the top of his head. He loved how he cracked himself up, and you couldn't help but laugh, even though the jokes were corny. You couldn't help but laugh because he was laughing, and found joy in those corny jokes.

This is what I know about my dad…

My dad worked hard to provide for his family. My dad instilled in us a strong work ethic, like he had. He knew the importance of honest, hard work. It builds character and you learn to appreciate things more because you worked hard for them.

My dad served others. From the time I was a little girl I can remember him serving others. When we lived in Panama he and my mother went to the leper colony and visited the patients there. Those patients were the outcast, the diseased. They were the ones that no one wanted to be around. I know that when he and my mother visited, those people felt a genuine compassion and love.
I can recall my dad buying food for children on more than one occasion, who he saw digging in trash cans for something to eat.
I remember my dad, along with my mother, volunteering at a nursing home here in Fort Walton Beach. They visited with the residents, fed them, and kept them company. They were simply, present.
My siblings and I had a great example of what it means to love and serve others sacrificially. We will hold these values close to our hearts.

My dad was a Patriot. He loved this country and was very proud to be an American! He served in the
Air Force for 27 1/2 years. It was not uncommon to see him wearing a t-shirt or hat that showed his love and dedication for the United States of America. He never took his freedom for granted.

My dad loved to sing, and boy could he sing! He was blessed with a beautiful voice. I'm sure many people will remember him for his singing. I can tell you that he was singing to the end. I have many fond memories of him singing the Ave Maria, the Our Father, Oh Holy Night, and En mi Viejo San Juan, just to name a few. He loved singing about his homeland of Puerto Rico and he especially loved singing in church.

My dad loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren so much. Just hearing our voices when we called to say "Hi Papa," or "Hi Dad," made him smile. He was proud. He liked hearing about our lives. It made him happy knowing we were doing well. He liked to give us advice. He was serious about the advice that he gave, and we listened.

My dad was a man of faith. My dad loved the Lord with all of his heart. That is where my dad found true joy and peace. Through good times and bad times, his faith never wavered. His trust in his Savior never wavered. Even in the last week of his life, he would call out to God. He told God that he was ready to be released from the chains so he could go home to be with Him.

This is MY Dad. You know him as Jorge Palerm-Castro. I know him as Dad, as Pop, as Papa.

Our lives will continue. We will carry-on. My hope and prayer is that when you remember my dad, you also remember the man of faith he was and who he put his trust in. I pray if you don't know this Savior, that you will start searching and come to know Him.

We're going to be alright, Dad! You taught us well. You taught us the importance of family and of having each other.
Estamos triste, pero nos tenemos el uno al otro!
Gracias para todo!
Dios recibió un buen y fiel servidor! Dijo bien hecho.
Te extraño, Papa!
❤️
We can cry with hope.
We can say good-bye with hope.
'Cause we know our good-bye is not the end.
We can grieve with hope.
'Cause we believe with hope.
There's a place where we'll see your face again.

Thank you for being here to celebrate my Dads life. He would want us to celebrate and smile because that is what he's doing right now. And what a celebration it must be!

Mr. George was a lovely man. He especially loved seeing the children from St. Mary School come to mass. I loved his concerns for others. He will be missed. My thoughts & prayers are with your family at this time.

I pray that God's calming and healing hand is touching each and every friend and family member. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. -Psalm 73:26 God bless you all!

Jorge was always Mr. Palerm to me. I remember whenever he took Lulu and I anywhere he always had a joke to tell me. I will always remember his laugh and his wonderful way of seeing the bright side of everything!

Jorge kept us all on our toes with a wonderful sense of humor. Once during choir practice he raised his hand like a school boy and said; 'I am having a problem with a note." When asked which one he responded; "The one all over the page!" His sign of approval to many musicians on a piece well played or sung was, "Not bad". That grin and laugh afterwards kept us wondering what's next. You are all in our prayers. We remember how loving a man our friend and brother is who still alive in our hearts. Gerri Baker

Jorge was such a great man, father and husband. He taught me a lot as a young adult in the Air Force. I'll ever be thankful for his wisdom and even his corny jokes. He will be truly missed. Rest in Peace Jorge!
