Judith Ann (Pygett) Stoddard, 71, of Miramar Beach, FL, departed this life and entered her heavenly home on Friday, July 14, 2017, at her home in Miramar Beach, FL.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Destin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Barry Carpenter and Pastor Kim Cannon presiding.
Judy was born on March 27, 1946, in Alto Pass, IL, the daughter of Avat and Velma Pygett. She graduated as a registered nurse from Memorial Hospital of Springfield School of Nursing in 1966. She married John H. Stoddard on September 3, 1967 at Anna Heights Baptist Church in Anna, IL. Judy and John have lived in Miramar Beach since 2004; prior to that time they lived in Atlanta, GA.
Judy was an avid lover of cats, dogs and all wildlife. She and John enjoyed traveling extensively throughout Europe. She was a member of Destin United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She suffered from Lewy Body Dementia for the past 7 years.
She is survived by her husband John, Miramar Beach, FL; brother-in-law Jim Stoddard and his wife, Debra, Assumption, IL; brother-in-law Mike Pryor and his wife Linda, Ramsey, IL; 3 nieces; 2 nephews; 13 greats; and one great-great. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Janet Pryor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Judith Ann Stoddard’s name to Destin United Methodist Church, 200 Beach Drive, Destin, FL 32541.
