Sarah Shawn
October 11, 1926 ~ January 30, 2018 (age 91) 91 Years OldShare Tribute:
Sarah Shawn, beloved mother, grandma, wife and aunt entered heaven on January 30 2018. Sarah is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Michael. She is survived by her four daughters, Madelaine, Susan, Karen (Leo) and Carol(Ford), granddaughter Diane, nieces and nephews, and many step grandchildren whom she loved like her own.
Sarah was the best Mommy on earth and devoted her life to her girls. Her smile could light up a room. Her sweet, kind and giving nature made everyone around her thrive. She represented everything good in this world and was the true definition of unconditional love. Her 91 years on earth were full of love, laughter and song to the very end. She loved well and was well loved by everyone who had the pleasure to know her.
Mommy, we miss you so much. We’re comforted knowing you’re with Daddy in God’s care. Rest In Peace, our precious, beautiful Mommy. You will always be the Wing Beneath Our Wings.
In Loving Memory of my devoted Mother, Sarah Shawn

In the 91 years
Sarah Shawn was on Earth
She gave love and joy to everyone
And to her daughters since our birth
For if anyone loved being a Mother,
It was our Mom…
And in that role
She was truly the BOMB
She taught us how to read & write
Long before we went to school
And to face each day with grace & dignity
Always saying, “Be Cool”
The epitome of goodness
In every way
Mom taught us how to treat others
And to live “right” every day
She loved poetry & music
And was always singing a song
And she’d teach us all the words
So we could sing right along
She loved us unconditionally
And protected us like a Mama Bear
And right to the very end
We knew how much our mommy cared
She dedicated herself
To her children’s greater good
Always encouraging us
To do the best we could
Tomorrow (Feb 2) is our parents’
72nd wedding anniversary
And just before she left us
Mom said, “Daddy is coming for me”
Our Mommy made the whole world
A much brighter place
And now that she’s in heaven, each time we look up
We’ll see her beautiful face.
We are saddened by the loss of our Mother, Sarah
Yet we rejoice knowing she finally gets to be with Mike
We are saddened with the thought of not seeing her smile
Yet we rejoice knowing she brightened everyone’s heart
We are saddened by not being able to hear her lovely voice
Yet we rejoice when we sang with her on her last day
We are saddened, for our Princess can no longer call out “Pretty”
Yet we rejoice because it was Sarah that turned a cat into Lucky
We are saddened, for we won’t be able to hold her again
Yet we rejoice knowing she is no longer in pain
We are saddened because we will no longer see her twinkle
Yet we rejoice, for her last words to us were “I love you all”
We are saddened
Yet we rejoice
