Willis “Bill” Eugene Wade, age 92, of Mary Esther, Florida, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017, in a local health care facility. He was born in Nocona, Texas, Monday, December 29, 1924 to Willis and Mary Wade.
Willis honorably served his country during World War II and was a wounded Veteran. After serving his country he returned to Monahans, Texas, where he went to work for Haliburton as a Master Diesel Mechanic in the oilfields of Texas. Bill worked for Haliburton from 1947-1967. The family then moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where he worked for over 42 years at Allied Brake Service with owner, Harry Demosthenes and coworker, Eddie Ruprite. He shared a special bond with each, and treated them and their families as he would his own family. He continued to use his mechanical abilities in repairing vehicles of local people in the area. He loved going to the shooting range, hunting, fishing, and the out of doors. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty. Survivors include his children, daughter, Sherry (Skip) Reed of Sulphur Bluff, Texas; son, William “Gene” Wade of Mary Esther, Florida; daughter; Judy Wade of Mary Esther, Florida; son, Joe (Shari) Wade of Pensacola, Florida; Grandchildren;
Great-grandchildren and Great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 10:00 AM; Beal Memorial Cemetery, 316 NW Beal Pkwy, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial donation be made in memory of Willis to a charity of your choice.
