Barbara Ann Rodgers-Hendricks, widow of Chaplain, Colonel Robert Edward Hendricks, passed away on May 27th, 2022, at Somerby of Santa Rosa Beach Senior Assisted Living, Walton County.  Prior to this, she had lived for many years at 103 West Hewett Point Road, Santa Rosa Beach, Walton County.

She was born on February 12th, 1934, in Pine Level Alabama, to Dewey Hobson Rodgers and Nora Canty Rodgers.  On June 5th, 1954, she married Robert Edward Hendricks, her hometown Pastor.  After Barbara and Robert finished their respective Degrees, Robert joined the Air Force and Barbara was now not only a minister's wife, but an Air Force wife.

Three children were born to Barbara and Robert's marriage: Rodger Eugene, Christine Roberta, and Lynn Ann.

Barbara earned a Master's in Education Psychology at the University of Hawaii, which she used in various teaching positions.

Throughout Robert's career as a pastor, Barbara was the organist.  Besides being politically active, she also found time to incorporate and serve as Coordinator of Caring and Sharing of South Walton for seven years.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 60 years.  She is survived by son Rodger Hendricks and wife Linda of Archer, Florida; daughter Christine Hendricks of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; daughter Lynn Hendricks Porter and husband Greg of Daphne, Alabama; and their son Seth and his wife Sara of Chattanooga, Tennessee, their son Brice and his wife Haley of Daphne, Alabama, and their son Justin also of Daphne, Alabama; sister Naomi Hinton of Seagrove Beach, Florida.  Also nephew Rob Roten and wife Ruth with daughters Elizabeth and Robyn of Spring Hill, Tennessee; niece Melodye Jester Gerdeman and husband Matt with daughter Alexxis and son Tyler of Knoxville, Tenessee; and nephew Scott Hinton of Gulf Breeze, Florida.

A memorial service will be held at Point Washington United Methodist Church, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, the 30th of July.
