Bernard Louis Sweka

Bernard Louis Sweka, CMSgt, USAF, RET., Age 67 passed away at his home on Monday, July 11, 2022, with loving family near.  Bernard was born on January 15, 1955 in Dubois, Pennsylvania, to Henry F and Ethel (Polifko) Sweka.  He graduated from Dubois Area Schools class of 1972.  Bernard enlisted in the United States Air Force in September 1973 and retired in February 2004 after honorably serving for 30 years. He was a Veteran of the Gulf War receiving a Purple Heart after the Khobar Towers Bombing in June 25, 1996.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ethel, Sister Laverne Gilbert and the love of his Life of 36 years Linda (Pylene) Curtis.  He is survived by Linda’s daughter Paetai Miller and Husband Tracy, Paitoon Waites and husband Jerome and grandchildren Jacob and Jessica Waites. A brother Gabriel and Wife Karen and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday, July 15th, 2022 from 3-5 p.m. at McLaughlin Mortuary.

Following the visitation service Bernard will join his Pennsylvania family for services and cremation.  Services in Pennsylvania are under the direction of Leo Nedza Funeral Home Sykesville, Pa.
