Carl G Gicker

Carl George Gicker of Ft. Walton Beach, FL died peacefully in his home on April 20, 2024. He was born November 13, 1931 in Chester, Pennsylvania  to George W. and Luverta Rutter Gicker. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Dorene Lee Gicker, his children Randall Gicker, Patricia Gicker Turner (Chris), and  Mark Gicker (Jennifer), and grandchildren Rachel Campbell Qureshi, Abby Campbell Henderson (Ben), Davis Campbell, and Megan Gicker. A proud Korean War veteran, he served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant  and  then served in the Civil Service for another 20, working in aircraft maintenance. He and Dorene were charter members of Trinity United Methodist Church where they were very active for over 64 years. Carl, who was affectionately known as "Pop Pop" by his grandchildren, was a loving father and grandfather who could fix or build anything from treehouses, to toy boxes, to additions to the house. He was our rock and will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ft. Walton Beach, FL on May 11, 2024 at 3:00 with visitation at 2:00. A graveside ceremony will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
