Carolyn H Burnett

Carolyn Hale Burnett, 76, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away April 28, 2019.

Carolyn was born on July 18, 1942, in Leaksville, North Carolina to the late Roy Dillard Hale, Sr. and Mary Fulcher Hale.  A graduate of Morehead High School. Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, Gary Burnett in 1960.  During Gary’s Air Force career, Carolyn worked in Civil Service positions in Elmendorf AFB, Alaska and Eglin AFB, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was privileged to volunteer with the Vietnamese refugees when they were airlifted to Eglin AFB, in 1974. 

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her brother, Roy Dillard Hale, Jr.  She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gary Burnett of the home; sister, Brenda Hale Carpenter (Butch) of Greensboro, North Carolina; nephew, Charles Carpenter (Kylie) of Raleigh, North Carolina niece, Sarah Carpenter Hutchinson (Shawn) of Greensboro, North Carolina; Sister-in-law, Sandra Burnett Self; and numerous nieces and nephews.  No formal service are planned at Carolyn’s request.
