Constance Townsend

Constance “Connie” Ann Gaunt Townsend, caring wife, and devoted mother of four died on August 27, 2021, 2:06 in the afternoon, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.

Connie is survived by her husband Craig; children, Cliff, Curt, Jennie, and Chad; grandchildren, Riley, Chloe, Everett, and Harper; and brother Ed Gaunt.

Connie was born in Woodbury, NJ on September 14, 1952, and lived with her family in Washington Township. She graduated from Washington Township High School in 1970. On June 15, 1974 she married Craig and they moved to the Southwest where they owned and operated restaurants in CO, OK, and NM. In 1980, the couple moved back to their hometown to raise their family, Connie retired in 2018 after 20 years of driving a school bus for Washington Township BOE, and she and her husband moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Connie, a kind and gentle person who found joy in caring for her house plants, spending time with family and friends, and watching the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She exuded love and compassion in everything and made friends where ever she went.

A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, September 2, 2021.  Visitation for friends and family will be at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am at McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Ave. SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548. Following services, burial will be at Beal Memorial Cemetery. Flowers and condolences may be offered at 55 Laurie Dr. NE, For Walton Beach, FL  32548.
