Deborah Wilson Tinker, 93, of Fort Walton Beach, FL., passed away on December 19, 2020. Born in Norwalk, CT, to the late J. Kirk and Gertrude Wilson on July 23, 1927, Deborah was the eldest of 7 children. Deborah was a resident of Ft Walton Beach for 49 years.
Deborah graduated from Norwalk High School, attended Rhode Island State College, and graduated from the Berkeley School in New York City. She and Edward A Tinker of Darien, CT, married in October, 1951 and moved to his various U.S. Air Force assignments in New York, Georgia, Colorado, Florida, Canada and Arizona. They had three children and finally returned to Fort Walton Beach in 1968 upon her husband’s retirement. Deborah worked as Branch Administrator at the local Metropolitan Life office for more than 20 years.
Deborah was predeceased by her husband Edward; her brothers John (Jack) Wilson, Peter Wilson; sister, Nancy Wilson Kelly; and daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Tinker.
Survivors include son, Thomas W. Tinker and daughter-in-law Shirley H. Tinker of Rock Hill, SC.; daughter Anne P. Tinker and her husband Michael Murdock of Huntsville, AL; a grandson, Ryan W. Tinker (Katie Beth) of Rock Hill, SC; and a great-grandson; sisters Patience Hoskins (Lanse) of Cleveland Heights, OH; Mary Jane Northrop of Yarmouth, ME, and Martha Madsen of Aspen, CO.
Deborah was interred in Beal Memorial Cemetery on December 30, 2020. A celebration of her life will follow at some later time. McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Ave., Fort Walton Beach, was entrusted with her arrangements.
