Dessie M. Davis, of Destin, Fla., and formerly of Luverne and Montgomery, Ala., passed away February 17, 2018 in Destin, Fl. She was born February 5, 1916 in Luverne, Ala. to Walter and Rose Pickard.  She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Rose Pickard, her daughter Katrina Romeo Zuidhoek, her brother Col. Walter M. Pickard and his wife Amy and also nephew John Pickard. 

She is survived by her grandchildren, Kristina Previto, Julian Turner Conn; great grandchildren Alexandria Newsham, Abigail Conn, Joseph-David Previto, Anna Conn and Isabella Conn, niece Martha Pickard Zink (Ripley); and stepchildren Harriet Gaylard Parr (Ed) and Thomas R. Gaylard, step grandsons Marc, Ross and Phillip Davis and their families.

A graveside services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at Emmaus Cemetery, Luverne, Al., at 1 PM with step grandson Marcus A. Davis, Jr. officiating. A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life Service will be held Shoreline Towers Clubhouse in Destin, Fl. at 11:00 Am on Saturday 24, 2018 with Marcus A. Davis officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Chambers; Great-grandson Joseph-David Previto; and step grandsons Phillip Davis.
