Dorothy Darlene Sutton

1942 – 2021

     Dorothy Darlene Sutton of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to everyone that knew her passed from this earth on February 7, 2021.  Born and raised among the potato fields of Ft. Fairfield, in Northern Maine, June 23, 1942 to Sarah Brown and Clifford Durost.

     As a devoted Air Force spouse she traveled the world-over.  Having lived in Dallas, Texas, Kadena AB in Okinawa, Japan, F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming, Vandenberg AFB, Lompoc, California, Eglin AFB, Sembach AB, Germany, Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nevada before settling down and making her home, along with her husband David, here in Ft Walton Beach, Florida.

     Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother Sarah, her aunt Ruby Browning and her uncle Vaughan Browning of Ft. Fairfield Maine.  She is survived by her loving husband David; daughter Vicki and son-in-law Dustin of Dalton, Georgia; her eldest son Terry; son Todd and daughter-in-law Keri of Slidell, Louisiana; son Jade and his partner Cheri, of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.  She will also be greatly missed by granddaughter Candice and her husband Tony of Springfield, Missouri; grandson Jesse of Slidell, Louisiana; grandson Bobby and great grandchildren Kiley, Bobby and Candice of Mountain Home, Idaho.  Dorothy also leaves behind her brother Sherwood and his wife Nancy of Bristol Connecticut, along with nephews Richie, Geoffrey and Kevin; and Uncle Carl of Famersville, TX.

    In her travels she experienced variety of endeavors including sales representative for the International House of Clocks Gift Shop in Germany.  It was while in Germany she traveled to Denmark, Czechoslovakia, and England.  Upon returning to Ft. Walton Beach she worked and made many friends at Beall’s Outlet and JoAnne’s Fabrics.

     Dorothy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  The family will receive visitors at McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Ave SE, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, 32548 at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 12, 2021.

     Dorothy’s last wishes were to be that any tributes and/or donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
