Doug was born on June 16, 1956 on Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas and raised in Fort Walton Beach. He was an avid water skier since his youth, and enjoyed the outdoors throughout his life.
Doug was known for his energetic and charismatic nature, and loved for his acts of service to friends and family.
He enjoyed traveling to such destinations as India, Nepal, Colombia, Thailand, and had just recently returned from three weeks in Europe with his wife. Doug was never one for a singular career, instead choosing a variety of professions and experiences including teacher of horticulture, estimator, customs agent, working construction on a nuclear power plant, bottled water distributor, lawyer, and real property manager.
We loved him and will cherish his memory.
The family will hold a memorial service at McLaughlin’s Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Avenue, Fort Walton Beach Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 2:00.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in his memory to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, Ohio 44192.
