In God’s mercy and grace, Elizabeth-Ann Walter, more affectionately known as Betty-Ann, age 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 24, 2020. Betty-Ann was born in Manchester, Connecticut on November 2, 1941. She attended Windham High School in Willimantic, Connecticut and University of Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut. Betty-Ann was a retired banker and owner of charter boat, Elizabeth-Ann, with her husband Captain Bob Walter from 1985-2011. Following retirement, she worked at Harvest House from 2005-2012.  Her last volunteer position was for Immanuel Anglican Church in the front office. She was a dedicated member of the church since January 1980, and she faithfully served as a long-time choir member.  Betty-Ann’s family will receive friends at Immanuel Anglican Church at her memorial service, to be held on Monday, June 29th at 10:00am.  Burial will follow at the Destin Memorial Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Canon Michael E. Hesse and the Rev. Caleb Miller. Gifts or remembrances may be made to the Immanuel Anglican Church Memorial Fund, 250 Indian Bayou Trail, Destin, Florida 32541, in Mrs. Walters’ name; flowers will be accepted.  Betty-Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Walter, her father, Robert Elliott and mother, Grace Davis, sister, Ellen-Mae Elliott Kupec, brother, Robert Elliott, daughter, Cindy Ray Harrison, and granddaughter, Whitney Lee Thornton.  Survivors include her step-mother Jean Elliott, step-sister, Heather Hoehenthal and husband Gary, Lily Dyer, and husband Jay, daughter Patricia Alice Cooke and husband Lonnie Cooke of Memphis, Tennessee, son Shawn McEwan and wife Stacey McEwan of Pueblo, Colorado, Kathleen Helgemo and husband Benjamin of Punta Gorda, Florida, son-in-law, Michael Harrison, stepsons Stephen Walter and Chris Walter, stepdaughter, Laura Walter Zitec and husband Greg. Grandchildren: Anthony Thornton, Jr., Elijah Thornton, Jordan Thornton, Elizabeth Ann Gail, Katherine Birkerbine, Jessica Huerbana, Jonathan McEwan, Lindsey McEwan May, Britney Allen, Samantha Allen, Riley Stewart, Max Helgemo, Paul Helgemo, Grace Helgemo, Luke Helgemo, and Benjamin Zitec. Great-grandchildren, A'miiko Williams, Alyssa Thornton, Anthony Thornton III, Carmelo Thornton, Aiden Thornton, Kenneth Charles Gould, Brennan McEwan Gould, Sinclair Bellamy, and Lorenzo Allen-Parascandolo. Great-great-grandchild: Bryelyn Williams.  Her legacy is that of unconditional love, kindness, and generosity, and her absence will be deeply felt.
