Grace Kohr Spencer

Grace A. Kohr Spencer age 77, of DeFuniak Springs, FL passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 28, 2021. She was born on November 26, 1943, in New York City, N. Y. She is preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Grace Wengert, and her older brother Arthur. She lived her 77 years of life her way and fulfilled her dream job as an Eastern Airlines Stewardess. Grace was a person with many interests that brimmed with creativity. Mardi gras, dancing, watching 4th of July fireworks, fishing, cruises, her beloved dogs, and time with family filled her life.

Grace is survived by her husband of 38 years, Duane A. Spencer. She is also survived by her nephew, Bruce Wengert; niece Linda Hake. Stepdaughters Christine (Jimmy) Etheridge and Rebecca (David) Keene. Grandniece Lauren (Jon) Lynch and grandnephew Shawn Hake. Grandchildren Jessica (Nick) Carlson, Ashley, Megan (David) Gorham, Cole (Michelle) Keene. Great-grandchildren Caysie Griggers, Brandt Gorham, and Wesley Carlson. She appreciated the wonderful care she received from Dr. Julie Staats.  We want to convey our gratitude to The Manor at Bluewater Bay in Niceville for the care and compassion that was given to her. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021, at 11:00 am at McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 S.E. Chestnut Ave. Ft. Walton Beach, FL. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Grace’s request is to have her ashes scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.
