H. G. ( Mac) McCraw, age 83, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, died Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. Mac was born in (Drayton) Spartanburg South Carolina and enlisted in the military in January 1953. Serving three overseas tours of duty in Korea, England and Vietnam and relocated to Fort Walton Beach, Florida in 1964 and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1973. Mac took an assignment as a logistics contractor for Lear Seigler Aircraft in Saudi Arabia for four years after retirement and enjoyed his Saudi assignment with his wife, Ethel. He was a member of St Mary's Chatholic Church and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel G. McCraw; son, Richard E. McCraw and son-in-law Alvey "Andy" Anderson; four sisters, Nettie Simms, Irene McCraw, Ruth Caldwell and Mae Sue McCraw who died as a toddler. Survivors include his daughter, Anna Anderson Honeker (Bob) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; son, David A. McCraw (Rhonda) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; sisters, Margaret Pendleton, Helen Russo and Sue Steadman of Spartanburg South Carolina; ten grandchildren, A.G. "Andy" Anderson III (Patti), Mark G. Anderson Sr (Stacey), Richard E. McCraw, Stephen A. Meeks (Olivia), Allison L. Tibbets, Jeremy M. McCraw, Christohper D. Erker, Michelle C. McCraw, Monica M. McCraw, Marshall A. McCraw; twelve Great Grandchildren and five Great-Great Grandchildren with one more on the way, and a great friend Sharon Ankelein of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; numerous Nieces, Nephews and family members. Mac loved golf, his many friends and family. He was especially proud of his memberships in the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 7674, American Legion post 235, Destin Elks Lodge 2688 and the Fort Walton Beach Moose Lodge 2193. Mac generously supported Wounded Warriors Foundation, St Jude’s Children Hospital and Boystown USA. A mass of resurrection will be held at St Mary's Catholic Church, 110 St Mary Avenue SW, Fort Walton Beach, Florida at 10:00 am Saturday, June 15, 2019. A viewing will be 9:30 am prior to the Mass. Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery, 316 NW Beal Pkwy, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Pallbearers will be A. G. "Andy" Anderson III, Richard E. McCraw, Marshall A. McCraw, Mark G. Anderson Sr., and Mark (Couda) G. Anderson Jr. Flowers will be accepted or donations to Wounded Warriors Foundation or St Jude’s Children Hospital. McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Avenue S.E., Fort Walton Beach, Florida is entrusted with the arrangements.
