Irene Mary Gleason

Irene Mary Gleason passed away peacefully from this life the morning of July 28, 2018 after a gradual decline in health.  She was supported throughout this time by her loving daughter, Christy. 

Irene was born in Hammond, Indiana on December 25, 1928 to Mary and Vern Baker.  She graduated nursing school and soon after she met and married the love of her life, William J “Bill” Gleason.  She then became a military wife, mother and homemaker as they moved around the world on different assignments.  The Gleason Family retired in Florida where she has called home since 1975.

Her interests included her family, genealogy, and reading.  She devoted her life to her family and church and her sweetness enlightened all who knew her.

Irene is survived by seven children (and spouses): Steven (Diana), Daniel (Kelly), Donna, Diane, Sue (Paul) Cloward, Christy, Stacey (Tim) Tobik and daughter-in-law Christi; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and son Richard.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Aug 3, 2018 at 11:00am at the LDS Chapel 339 Lake Drive NW, Ft Walton Bch, FL 32548.  Visitation will be at 10:00am and Graveside services will immediately follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
