James P. Kelly

James P. Kelly, age 67 of Destin, Florida; known to his many friends as Little Jimmy and Jimmy D,  passed away peacefully with extended friends visiting him on Thursday, July 19, 2018.

He was born on January 30, 1951 in Catskill, New York to Arthur H. and Regina Kelly.  Jimmy honorably served his country in the USMC and did an extended tour of duty in Vietnam. After his honorable service he began a long and successful career in the commercial fishing industry. This career began in the North East in Gloucester, Maine and into the Grand Banks and South to the Florida Keys, working his way to Destin where he remained for the rest of his life.

Friends will gather at the docks and board the Motor Vessel,  American Spirit on Saturday,  August 11, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. to scatter his cremains. A special thank you to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for the loving care they provided Jimmy.
