Jean Marie Barfield

Jean Marie Barfield was a deeply caring and loving wife, Nana, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She passed away on April 12, 2022, at the age of 58, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her loved ones by her side.

Jean was born to Martin and Carol Bazylak on September 16, 1963. Her family made their home in Destin, Florida, where she grew up with her five brothers, Marty Joe (Penney), David (Michelle), Mark (Sherri), John, and Stan (Tammy). She met the love of her life, David Barfield, and married in February 1991. They have two children, Charles (Callie) and Carrie, as well as one grandchild, Louisa.

Her family meant the world to her, and she selflessly lived her life devoted to making those around her feel loved and cared for. No matter the struggle or difficulty, Jean's friends and family knew she offered emotional strength and support to anyone in need.

A celebration of life service will take place at McLaughlin Mortuary, in Fort Walton Beach, on Saturday, April 23 at 12:00 pm. The family asks, in lieu of flowers, to make a donation in Jean's name to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
