Jo Alice Petrea Chalk, age 92, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away on February 1, 2020. She was born on September 10, 1927 in Batesville, Mississippi to parents, James Beland Petrea and Wilbur Glenn Hudson Petrea.
Jo Alice was a longtime resident of Fort Walton Beach and retired after working over 30+ years as a bookkeeper in the medical and automotive industries working for White Wilson Medical Center and Dr. Hollingsworth’s medical practice and Quality Imports. After retiring, Jo Alice became a longtime volunteer of the Fort Walton Beach Senior Friends. Jo Alice and her husband Jim were charter members of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Jo Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, of 70 years, parents and brother and sister, James Beland (JB) Petrea, Sr and Hattie Velma Petrea Robinson.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn (Victor) Pendleton, Seaside, Florida and Linda (Johnny) Moman, Birmingham, Alalbama; son, Don (Janet) Chalk, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with funeral services following at 12:00 p.m. at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 17 Chestnut Ave., Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Following the service, Jo Alice will be laid to rest next to her husband at Beal Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be son in law’s Victor Bowman and Johnny Moman, grandson’s Brannon Hall, Drew Chalk, and Conner Chalk, and grandson in law Jeff Mauldin.
