Joan Valerie (Smith) Rowell

Joan V. Rowell, 84, of Mary Esther, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; son, Butch; great-grandson, Brennan; parents, William and Alice Smith; and brothers, John and Gavin.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Loretta Butts and husband Mike; daughter-in-law, Diana Rowell; grandchildren, Michaela Roby and husband Nathan; Rachel Yurcaba and husband Stephen; Jon Rowell; Jason Butts and wife Eiko; SGT Joe S. Butts, US Army; great-grandchildren, Angelica, Sadie, Orion, Simeon, Drew, Christian, Jaxson, Cayden, Lucius, Caleigh, Kyleigh and Jordyn; great-great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Chandler. She is also survived by her sisters, Jean, Hazel, Betty and Gillian; plus nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at McLaughlin Mortuary on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 4:00pm. Joan will be interred with her beloved husband, Virgil, at Barrancas National Cemetery in a private service.
