John Sidney Carr, age 82 of Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away on May 3, 2018. He was born on February 2, 1936 in Montgomery, AL to Willie and Laverne Carr. A lifelong Bama fan, John graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1963. He was a veteran, airborne paratrooper in the Army during the Vietnam War. John began his career at Butler Steel in Birmingham, AL. Later, he started his own engineering company and was self-employed until retirement. He loved God, family, hunting, fishing, Fox news and the beach.
He is predeceased by his parents, Laverne and Willie Carr; brothers, O’Neil and Warren Carr. He is survived by his wife, Anne Crane; children, Donna (Carl) Brooks-Hottel, Deborah (Daniel) Iskandar, Dana (Eddie) English, Sid Carr and stepchildren, Randy (Margie) Crane, Lisa (Bill) Jackson, Steve (Leeta) McGill and Michael (Renee) McGill. John had 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Donations in his honor may be made to the American Cancer Society.
