John Alan Lercher, 62, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018.
Born on May 24, 1956 in Joliet Illinois, the son of Julia Stewart and the late Robert Lercher. Survived by his four children; Anna Lercher, Maggie Montes, Charlette Lercher and his son Paul Lercher; five grandsons, Junior and Jorden Montes,Levi, Jonathan and Jonah Lozano; former wife Maria Lercher; siblings, Donna Kroll, Doug Lercher and George Lercher; his Air Force brothers, John Jennings, Jay Arnold and Don Irish; and many other close friends.
John was a loving father, great friend, and a hardworking man. He served in the United States Air Force from September 1975 - December 1993. He was a dedicated Crew Chief and Weasel Keeper in the 37th Tactical Fighter Wing. His final place of employment was at BAE systems for the past 15 years (2003 - 2018). He took great pride in everything he did.
He passed away peacefully in his own bed at home surrounded by loving family.
A memorial service will be held at McLaughlin Mortuary; 17 Chestnut Ave SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548; on Thursday, June 28th; at 6:00 p.m. with full military honors provided by the USAF. In lieu of flowers, as he was a blood donor, please make a donation to the American Red Cross, 2018 Lewis Turner Blvd, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547.
