LaVonne (Bonnie) Fleskes

LaVonne “Bonnie” Fleskes, age 87, of Fort Walton Beach, went to be with our Lord on July 6, 2021.  In 1962, she moved to Fort Walton Beach with her husband Don and three daughters. She later began her career with the City of Fort Walton Beach and retired as an accountant. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, painting, crocheting, golfing, and most of all being a loving “Gran”.  She was a Christian, devout in her faith, and led many to the Lord.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Ollie McConnaughay; her loving husband Don Fleskes; grandson Brandon Czeck; brother Robert McConnaughay and sister Barbara Love. She is survived by her three daughters, Pamela (Michael) Jimmerson, Cynthia (Alex) Zelius, and Donetta (Rick) Czeck; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Karen Nuelle (Jim), numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of dearest neighbors and friends.

A private Celebration of Life will be held on August 28, 2021, with Reverend Doug Halsema officiating.  In memory of Bonnie and to support her dear sister’s Ministry, Backpack for Kids, contributions may be made to Taylorville Christian Church, 1124 North Webster Street, Taylorville, IL, 62568.  The Ministry aids in feeding elementary students over the weekend.
