Laurel H. Daly, age 72, of Mary Esther, FL, passed away on February 4, 2018.  She was born in Montclair, NJ to Robert and Ruth Hainey in 1945.

Laurel had a passion for teaching; specializing in working with those with special needs and troubled youth at Saint Anne Institute in Albany, NY. This passion for teaching and working with children led her to hold various positions in the Niskayuna Central School District, including PTA President of the VanAntwerp Home & School Association. In 2000, Laurel and her husband Jack moved to Florida from Niskayuna, NY to enjoy the beaches and sunshine.

Laurel is predeceased by her parents and a brother; Robert Hainey, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 50+ years, Jack Daly; children, John (Donna) Daly Jr. of Dunwoody, GA, Andrew M. (Rachael) Daly of Syracuse, NY, Luke R. Daly of Alpharetta, GA, and Kristen (Tony) Daly Zajac of Ackworth, GA; 8 grandchildren, Samantha, Noah, Jake, Owen, Blake, Mackenzie, Bailey, and Devon; and sisters, Ruthellyn Hainey Thorne and Martha Hainey Flacke.  She will be remembered for always being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 1-3 PM at McLaughlin Mortuary, Fort Walton Beach, FL.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society, 99 Eglin Parkway NE, Suite 37, Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32548, in Laurel’s name.  Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed online at www.mclaughlinmortuary.com.
