Leah “Deanie” Steiner

Leah passed away February 11, 2021 at Heritage Healthcare Center in Tallahassee, Florida. She was 94.  She lived in Fort Walton Beach since 1956 and was married to John C. Steiner, who passed away July 25, 2008.

Leah is survived by her three daughters, Patti Howard (John), Susan Reid, both from Tallahassee and Nancy Murphy from Niceville;  Grandchildren, Lesley Gallagher, Jay Howard (Amy), Ryan Reid, Eric Reid (Kara), and Jeff Murphy (Kirsten);  Great grandchildren, Cole Gallagher, Laine Howard, Reese Howard, and Rylynn Reid;  Special friend Mrs. Bobbie Coleman.

COVID was not the reason of her death, but the restrictions caused by COVID.  Leah was isolated from her family for months and the loneliness was too much for her.  Once her family could finally see her, they noticed a change; she had lost her will to live.  Family was her life. Leah will be greatly missed by all.   

A graveside service will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Beal Memorial Cemetery.  Social distancing and masks are appreciated.  McLaughlin Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
