Lois M. Warvari
March 23, 1943 ~ January 20, 2024 (age 80) 80 Years Old
Lois was born in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Lindenhurst, NY as a young girl. She married her high school sweetheart, Hal Warvari, in Lindenhurst after graduation. Hal enlisted in the Army and the family moved through various postings, including Augsburg, Germany, where their first daughter, Robin, was born. Later, their second daughter, Dawn, was born in Columbus, OH, while Hal was completing his master’s degree at The Ohio State University. Lois and Hal gave their daughters a great love of travel and exploration through the various postings around the United States. Lois was always quick to take advantage of the offerings available with each move: pottery making, stitching, painting, and always reading, as well as volunteering with multiple charities and with her daughters’ schools and activities. When stationed in Aberdeen, MD, she and Hal were out on their sailboat frequently, sailing up and down the East Coast. Once they retired to Niceville, FL, Lois and Hal had a house built in Bluewater Bay and enjoyed retirement. She was active in the Embroiderer’s Guild of America and went to many stitching groups and conferences. She was an avid reader and was a participant in multiple book clubs. She volunteered at the Bargain Box of the Niceville Methodist Church every week, as well as helping with various other church duties. All through her time in Niceville, she had her daughters and grandchildren visit often to take advantage of the beach and various Florida attractions, and she also traveled all over the country to attend every important event in their lives. She continued to travel with her family, as well as trips with church groups, until just last year. Lois will be sorely missed as a loving wife, wonderful mother, and excellent grandmother.
