She was born on August 7th, 1929, in Alabama to Mattie and Charlie Madaris. She married William Clark Luckie, Jr in June of 1947, on Friday the 13th and when questioned about that date, she like to tell people that "I have been 'Luckie' ever since." In 1955, they moved to Fort Walton Beach. She was employed by Civil Service as an accountant in the engineering division at Hurlburt Field and Eglin Air Force Base. She retired in 1985 with 30 years of service.
In her retirement, she became a tour guide and host with Creative Tours, with numerous national and international trips, working over 20 years in this position.
She was an active member of FBC, Fort Walton Beach for 65 years. She taught Sunday School, worked with homebound ministry, and was the senior adult director for many years, using some of her travel host skills in this position.
