Mari Lee Shields

Mari Lee Sheilds, age 63, passed away on November 28, 2020, and is now in the safe hands of God and family. Mari Lee was born in Mesa, Arizona to Ed and Lee Shields on Nov. 30, 1957. She was always a high achiever, and was Class President of Las Vegas High School. She wanted to be a police detective and took classes at the University of Hawaii in criminology. Mari Lee had a change of heart and got her Chef and Hotel Management degree. She worked at AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar in Destin, FL for 20 years. She will be loved and missed by family, friends and closet companion, her dog, Sakemoe.

Mari Lee is preceded in death by her parents, Ret. Col. Edward R. Shields III and Alice Lee Shields, and by her cousin, Jamie Woods. She is survived by her sister Lori Shields Hill (Doug), and their children Edward Ryan Hill and Mari Aliceson Hill of Fort Walton Beach; Aunt and Uncle, James C. Woods and Elizabeth Woods and their daughter Anna Woods of Las Vegas Nevada; and close relatives Nina Shields and Steven Shields. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
