Olivia Caldwell Roark, “Libby Lou,” passed away June 26, 2017 in the comfort of her own home at the age of 81. She was born in Ecru, Mississippi, August 14, 1935 to Bessie Stephens Caldwell and L. Dalton Caldwell. Graduating from Ecru High School and Blue Mountain College, Blue Mountain, Mississippi, she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She taught at Eglin Air Force Base, Annette P. Edwins Elementary School, Fort Walton Beach, and at the overseas teaching placement in Turkey. She was a member of the Gulf Area Garden Club, Junior League of The Emerald Coast, and enjoyed her cherished birthday groups and her Bunco family. As a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach, her strong faith reflected God’s love. One of her greatest joys was evident in her 40 plus years of teaching first grade Sunday school. Olivia is survived by her husband Kelly Roark of 54 years and her three daughters, Laurie (Brad) Biddle of Albertville, Alabama; Julie Roark of Birmingham, Alabama; and Kelly Anne (Ross) Binkley of Destin, Florida; grandchildren Mary Beth and Brock Biddle and Graham, Will, Allen, and Dalton Binkley. She is also survived by her sister Carmen Haynes of Starkville, Mississippi, nephews Randy (Tammye) Haynes and Jack (Myra) Haynes, great nephew and nieces all of Starkville, and cherished in-laws, nieces and nephews in Tennessee. Her life was much like her garden; full of color and beauty. She had an adventurous nature and enjoyed travelling to different parts of the world with family and friends. Olivia lived life joyfully, generously, and lovingly. She welcomed everyone with her warm southern cordiality. Her vibrant, energetic and delightful spirit remains in our hearts always and forever. Memorials may be made to Children in Crisis, 1000 Luke Avenue Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547 or Senior Citizens Ministry, First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach, 21 First Street, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548.
