Ralph J. Bruno was born June 28, 1945 in Boston, Massachusetts to his mother, Cornelia Agnes Bulens-Bruno and his father, John Louis Bruno. He was the fourth of eleven children. On July 15, 1967 Ralph enlisted in the US Army serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1971. While serving, Ralph was seriously injured in battle and received the Purple Heart for his sacrifice. He was also awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze stars for his valor.
Upon returning home from Vietnam, Ralph worked as a firefighter for the Boston Fire Department. After 10+ years with the BFD, he retired with full honors.
Ralph was widowed in August 2015 when his wife of 20 years, Norma, passed away. He is survived by his sons Ralph Bruno and James Bruno, his stepsons Daniel and David Litz, and his two granddaughters, Samantha and Kelsey Bruno.
Ralph loved fishing, working with his hands, and helping anyone and everyone. His great sense of humor and caring nature will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service for Ralph will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 2 P.M. at McLaughlin Mortuary in Ft. Walton Beach.
