Raymond Wilson, age 87, of Shalimar passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 17, 2017. Ray was born in Chicago and grew up in Wisconsin. After serving with the Army in Korea he moved to Mobile. There he started his civil service career working at Brookley Air Force Base and met and married the love of his life Barbara. They built a house and started a family before moving to California and New York. They later relocated to Shalimar in 1975 working at Eglin Air Force Base as a logistics specialist. Ray had many interests like working on and restoring cars, coaching Little League teams, Boy Scouts or taking the family on vacation to remote areas. Another favorite thing which came so naturally to him was making new friends wherever he went. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara; his children, JoAnn, David and James. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 29, 2017, at McLaughlin Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.
