Tribute

On December 18, 2020 at 1:51pm Robert "Ken" Smith passed from this earth joining his parents Joan "Wanda" Pierce and Lewis Christopher Smith, to live in eternity.

Born April 24, 1952 in Panama City Florida. Ken grew up on the East coast as a "Navy Brat" and followed in his father’s footsteps joining the Navy. He proudly served on the USS LUCE, after graduating from Greenville High school, in Greenville Michigan in 1970 where he played football.

Ken was known over the years as "Wizard, Mr.S., Smitty, and Mr.Ken". He was well known for his truck driving, dispatching, safety, and general operations manager/safety director positions at WB Hauling, ETV and Total Quality Inc. His voice will always be remembered as the voice of Montabella Rocket football announcer, referee, and benefit auctioneer. His final days were spent semi-retired selling winter coats in Florida at The North Face.

Ken loved riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, football, bowling, and enjoying life racing with his brothers, and the beach.

Ken leaves behind his beloved wife Theresa, and their children; Brandy and Nate Skinner; Shiree Wheeler (Dave); Amanda Herring (Justin); Andrew and Briana Quirk; Destinee and Bruce Peterson; and nine beautiful grandchildren; Alan, Delaney, Margo, Dawson, Nicolas, Ryan, Breyden, Alivia and Myles. Ken is also survived by his sister and two brothers; Connie and Roger Baker; Don and Kelley Smith; and Ron and Diana Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, and adopted kids along the way. Ken never met a stranger.

Ken Being Ken, made his own arrangements with direct cremation and in the spring, in Michigan, a celebration of life with military honors will be held, where motorcycles and semi-trucks will be welcomed and encouraged. 

His one wish was that he be remembered as "One of the good guys".  His Mission was accomplished.
