Sherrie Evans

Sherrie Evans, age 89, passed away peacefully December 28, 2020. She was born on November 20, 1931, in Arkansas to the late Harvey and Rosie McCool. She was married to Jack E. Evans who preceded her in death.

Sherrie loved to go to the casino, sew, quilt and cook. For many years she worked at various hotels and restaurants in catering and food services. Sherrie was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was a friend to many and loved by them as though she was family. She had a vivacious personality and flare for fashion. All who knew and loved her will never forget her tenacity, wit, grace and her loving heart. She will be dearly missed and forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

Sherrie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack E. Evans; siblings, Jane Morrison, Dorothy Sherman, Wayne McCool, Tom McCool, and Faye Terry; grandson’s Richard DeSchepper and Eric Sylvan.

Sherrie is survived by her daughter, Joy Holt (Ken); son, George “Sonny” Knowles; grandchildren, Diane (Ernest) Sylvan, Sherrie Creel, and Evan Knowles; great-grandchildren, Anthony Sylvan (Ida), Tiffany Sylvan, Jack Wyatt Creel, Danica Creel and Brooklyn Edgar; great-great-grandchildren, Kensley Sylvan and Harper Sylvan; sisters, Ruth Sherman and Lois Kroft, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for friends and family will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at McLaughlin Mortuary, 17 Chestnut Ave SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548.
