Tincy Delores (Walton) Fuqua

Delores was born on February 29, 1932.  She passed away on June 12, 2019, at her home in Ft. Walton Beach. She was surrounded by her children and loving caregiver.   

Delores was predeceased by her parents Harvey (Curly) Rubin Walton and Charlsea (Beanie) Lorraine Walton, brothers Jimmie Walton and Morris Walton, and husband of 66 years, Paul Fuqua.  Delores is survived by 1 son, Rodney Fuqua and 1 daughter, Paula Syfrett (Rodney), 4 grandchildren, Paul Syfrett (Christine), Dawn Gardner (Bobby), Daniel Syfrett, and David Syfrett (Alex Rumfelt). She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Madison Broxson, Hunter Gardner and Bella Gardner.

Delores graduated from Holt High School in 1950. She eloped with the love of her life, Paul Fuqua, the night she graduated. They were married for 66 years. She was a long-distance telephone operator in Columbus, MS. During their 35 years in Civil Service, Deloris and Paul traveled a lot. They lived in Tuscaloosa, Al, South Carolina, Willingboro, NJ, Orlando, FL, Merced, CA, Warner Robbins, GA, Montgomery, AL, Tampa, FL, Landstuhl, Germany and retired in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Deloris belonged to garden clubs in every state they lived.

The family wish to thank Home Instead Caregivers for many years of loving care, Emerald Coast Hospice, and wonderful neighbors.  McLaughlin Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Private burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.
