Walter Joseph "Wheeler" Secedi

September 19, 1926 ~ November 4, 2022 (age 96) 96 Years Old

We are sad to announce that on November 04, 2022, we had to say goodbye to our father Walter “Wheeler” Secedi (Miramar Beach, Florida), born in Campbell, Ohio on September 19, 1926. Son of Walter & Anna Secedi. He was a 1943 graduate of Memorial High School. He was in the US Army Military as a Supply Sergeant during WWII and was stationed at Hiroshima/Nagasaki, Japan aftermath of the Atomic bomb when the US helped to rebuild those cities. He worked at Youngstown Sheet & Tube as a Crane Operator and also later at Fun & Games Mission Viejo, California, owned by the Debartolo family of Youngstown, Ohio, first as store manager followed by the position as their Western Regional Manager.

“Our loving father,” who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, “is now in the loving arms of our Father and Lord.”

“Wheeler” will be cremated by McLaughlin Funeral Home at their Okaloosa facility in Fort Walton Beach, Fl. Expression of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed online by visiting www.mclaughlinmortuary.com. Family and friends are invited to celebrate “Wheeler” life at his son’s residence, 328 Sandy Cay Dr., Miramar Beach, Fl., 32550, on Sunday, November 13, at 3 pm. A mass will be performed in honor of Walter’s life on Tuesday, December 13th at 9:15 am at the Resurrection Catholic Church, 259 Miramar Beach Dr., Miramar Beach, Fl., 32550.

He is survived by: his children, Theresa L. Miller of Miramar Beach, FL, Joseph W. Secedi (Pamela) of Miramar Beach, FL, and his grandson Christopher Miller (Melinda) of Riverside, CA., Krystal Miller & great granddaughter Zennalee of Lake Havasu, AZ., Daniel J. Secedi (Jennifer) & great grandchildren Nolan, Laurel of Cary, IL. and Shari A. Leu (Chris) & great grandson Neven of Chicago, IL., Grandson Michael Jr. Pacak (Heather) of Gardenville, NV., great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kyle, Nicholas, Catalina, Pacak, Granddaughter Tami Pacak, great-grandchildren Zane, Blaise & daughter Piper of Los Angeles, CA.

He was predeceased in death by her beloved wife, Rose Marie (Srnec) Secedi, who passed away at age 96, September 11, 2018, his daughter Sandra J. Pacak (Secedi) who passed away at age 54, July 18, 2004, his Father Joseph W. Secedi, Mother Anna (Yelenit) Secedi, Siblings Peter Misko, Ralph Misko, Margert “Peggy” Boark, Emelia “Ema” Barillare.

The Secedi family would like to extend their deepest thanks and appreciation to “The Blake” Memory Care of Miramar Beach, Fl., the entire staff, Hospice Emerald Coast, and to the nurses who helped us transition our wonderful father in peace and comfort. Our friends/neighbors who always assisted us with dad’s care at a moment’s notice. THANK YOU ALL!
