William T. GallowayAugust 30, 1932 ~ January 20, 2018 (age 85)
William “Bill” T. Galloway Jr., age 85, son of William T. Galloway Sr. and Elizabeth Galloway passed away on January 20th, 2018 in the comfort of his own home under hospice care. He attended public schools in Huntsville, AL, but graduated from Columbia Military academy in 1950. He attended Vanderbilt University and graduated with a BA in 1954. He received a second Lieutenant commission through ROTC and served in the US Army counter intelligence corps on active duty in Japan and Korea. Following his service in the Army he attended Vanderbilt University and received a Doctorate of Law Degree. He returned to Huntsville and practiced law for 38 years as a partner with Lanier, Ford, Shaver and Payne. During his career, Bill, was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon and Elder. He was a treasurer of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and a long time active member of the Huntsville Rotary Club. He was also past President of The Huntsville United Way. In 2015 He moved to Destin, FL to be closer to family. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen, of 55 years and infant son, Blake. He is survived by his three sons, Glenn Galloway and his wife, Patricia; Andrew Galloway and his wife Cadee; and Thomas Galloway; and grandson, Jordan Galloway. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Central Presbyterian Church with interment after at Maple Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church.
