William Earl McSwain

William Earl McSwain, age 87, longtime resident of Fort Walton Beach, Fl., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at a local health care facility.  William was born on June 6, 1931, in Marianna, Fl. To William H. McSwain and Nora Powell.  He was Baptist by faith and a member of Cinco Baptist Church, Fort Walton Beach, and Fl.  He was a member of Alpha Lodge Number 172 Scottish Rites and York Rites.  Bill has always had a distinguished Masonic Career serving as Master of his Lodge in 1970, serving as Treasurer for 35 years.  A Member of the Shrine, York Rite, and the Scottish rite as a KKCH member. A Master Mason for over 50 years.  Bill worked for the Postal Service for over 34 years before retiring.  He especially loved fishing, hunting and family.  He would say his pride and joy in life was his family but especially his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lucille in 2016, two brothers and one sister.  Survivors include his daughter, Gloria (Butch) Heithus of Crestview, Fl.; Son, “Billy” (Sonyia) McSwain of Shalimar, Fl. Sister, Sylvia Foster of Crestview, Fl. Four grandchildren, Melissa McSwain, Jamie Brundage, Jan Tesnow and Carrie Burkett; seven Great Grandchildren, The family will receive friends at a visitation on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. at Cinco Baptist Church, 26 Yacht Club Dr. Fort Walton Beach, Fl. Funeral Services with Masonic Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mickey Hawkins and members of the masonic lodge Officiating.  Following the funeral services burial will be in Beal Memorial Cemetery, 316 Beal Pkwy NW, Fort Walton Beach, and Fl. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Scottish rite, P.O. Box 1, Panama City, fl. 32402 in memory of William McSwain.
