William Eugene Wade

William Eugene “Gene” Wade, passed away on January 8, 2023, at his Pensacola home.  Gene was born on June 23, 1955, in Kermit, Texas.  The family moved to Mary Esther, Florida in 1967 where Gene grew up and graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School.  He was a member of the Evangelistic Centre Church in Fort Walton Beach.  After high school, Gene began his career in the automotive industry working for Taylor Auto Parts.  He moved to Pensacola several years ago and was currently working for NAPA Auto Parts Store. Gene was ASE Certified Auto Machinist and worked many years for Taylor Auto Parts and Car Quest/Advance and NAPA Auto Parts stores.  He was also a gunsmith and an avid gun enthusiast.

Gene was a quiet and gentle soul.  His friends called him a “Big Teddy Bear”.  He made many friends throughout his life journey.  All that knew him found a true and loyal friend.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents Betty and Willis “Bill” Wade; his siblings Sandy Lawson and Judy Wade Sietz.

Gene is survived by his sister Sherry Reed (Olin) of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and his brother Joe Wade (Shari) of Pensacola, Florida.

He was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by them all.

Graveside services will be held January 19, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Beal Memorial Cemetery located at 316 Beal Parkway NW in Fort Walton Beach, Florida with Pastor Blake Nance officiating.
