William B. Collins has gone to join his late wife, Ruby Collins, September 19, 2020. He was at the Fort Walton Beach Rehabilitation Center while under Hospice care. William is the son of the late Julius and Margaret Collins from Tuscaloosa, AL.
William served in the Air Force 4 years and later retired as Chief of Safety at Eglin AFB for over 47 years combined. He was very proud of being a graduate of The University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1958. He also graduated from Texas A&M University with Masters Degree in 1973. He was a Past Commander at Post 235 American Legion. He was instrumental in building the new American Legion.
William is survived by 5 children: William B. Collins, II, Christian Martin, Kathryn Collins, Teresa Waden and Jay Henderson. William was also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer society’s Emerald Coast unit in his name are encouraged.
Services will be held at Graveside, Beal Memorial Cemetery, with Military Honors Friday, September 25, 2020 at 10 am.
