Hye K Bolen

December 20, 1935 ~ March 28, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Hye "Marie" Bolen passed away on March 28, 2017 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 81. She was born December 28, 1935 in, what was then, a unified Korea. She came to the United States in 1970 and had been a resident of NW Florida since 1979. She loved gardening, cooking, bingo, playing cards and being outside. She loved being with all of her friends and family. She became Catholic later in life and attended both St Mary Catholic Church and was an active member with the Siloam Korean-American Catholic Community. She is preceded by her husband, Gerald. She is survived by two sons, Andy and Frank; a daughter, Regina; three grandchildren, Elise, Justin, and Jane; a great granddaughter, Mari. She is also survived by her sister, Hye Young Han and cousins Young Hee Han and Soo Nam Han who reside in South Korea, sister in Law Elizabeth Pope in Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Cancer Center for their support and kindness when she fought the cancer well as the nurses and staff of Regency Hospice who helped care for her in her final days.
Arrangements are entrusted to McLaughlin Mortuary. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel, 17 Chestnut Avenue SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL. Services will follow at 2:00PM; burial will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1:00PM at County Line Cemetery, Arlington, AL.
