Helen Louise Neiss of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, age 90, died on August 19th, 2017, surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband Tom Neiss; her daughter Pat Davie; and her son Bill Gibson (Beth) both of Pensacola, Florida; granddaughter Barabra Koval (Tim) of Marietta, Georgia; granddaughter Lauren Newman (Bryce) of Southern California; and her great-grandchildren Avery, Luke, Addie, and Bennett Koval.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar Gibson, the father of her children; her father and mother, Matthew and Helen Martinek; her sister Marie Daly; and her granddaughter Becky Gibson.
Helen was born in 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. She was an active member of the note-a-bells, the women's club, garden club, and was an original member of the yacht club. She and Tom were also active bridge players. The celebration of Helen's life will be held on Tuesday, August 22 at 11 a.m. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. at the McLaughlin Mortuary located at 17 Chestnut Ave., Fort Walton Beach, Fl. Pastor Andy Pauwels will officiate at the services.
The burial will be immediately following the services at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
