She opened her arms and gave me love when I was a very confused young woman. She call me "one of her girls" when I felt alienated and angry. She listened to my truly horrible singing with the best friends I ever had and applauded. My goodness, she cooked for us at 1 a.m.!
If she scolded us, we knew we deserved it, but the sun would rise and she over it. At Christmas, I learn Hanukkah. On Fridays, I learned services. She opened doors and opened my opinions. Sometimes, we'd tromp to the movies (even Xanadu) and laugh over popcorn. That smile... I'd say it was one of a kind, but it was 5 of a kind!
Girls, if you miss your "Mommy", look in the mirror. She will always be smiling back at you. I'll bet you can hear her applauding too.
You were so lucky.

My aunt Sarah was an amazing person. She was one of the kindest , sweetest people I have had known. She had an fabulous disposition. She didn’t have a bad bone in her body. She always had a kind word to everyone she encountered. I am so thankful that I was able to see her recently and she was so happy to see me. It warmed my heart as she always so gracefully did. Her recent illness mad me very sad but the comfort of knowing that she was so well taken care of by her beautiful daughter Karen made me feel so much better. Her daughters genuinely loved her very much. She will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Rest In Peace my beautiful Aunt Sarah

My dear sweet Grandma, I love you and will cherish the memories of times we spent together playing cards, going to friday night services, eating peaches and cream, rubbing the onion on the brisket, going to play rehearsals, your songs and poems and listening to your musical voice. Rest in peace sweet Grandma. I love you always.
